Iakwahwatsiratátie received a research grant through McGill University. The research project is called, Onkwehonwehnéha Ionkwarihwisá:kon.
The research team is comprised of: Kahtehrón:ni Iris Stacey PhD, Kanerahtóntha Leith Mahkewa, Ieronhienháwi Tatum McComber, Karihwakátste Cara Deer & from McGill University Janine Metallic PhD. The project assistant is Karonhiarónkwas Marie D'ailleboust.
Onkwehonwehnéha Ionkwarihwisá:kon is looking at methods to support advanced to superior second language learners in continuing to advance their proficiency.
The project is broken up into 2 parts; the first part is the peer group language learning model, and the second part is the recording of first language speakers. The peer group model is currently active with 4 peer groups, each with 5-7 peers including a first language speaker.
